This program is only functional part of the time, and it’s super frustrating that I can’t view a good chunk of the previous lectures since the software either crashed or didn’t function right from the get-go. Plus, it’s pretty sluggish, and the website is frequently hard to access.

The latest update has turned Panopto into a terrible way to catch lectures, whether live or recorded. The sound keeps cutting out, making it pretty much impossible to follow along. This is a big problem not just for those of us who want to review a lecture later, but especially for students who are unwell and can’t make it to class. We’ve had to switch to using Zoom recordings, which isn’t perfect either due to our auditorium setup, but at least we can actually hear the lessons. I contacted our school's IT team, and they mentioned it was a Panopto issue. When I reached out to Panopto, they just passed my complaint back to the IT department without even acknowledging my concerns. It feels like I’m stuck with no way to fix this problem.

Incredible and reliable choice. If you're on the hunt for a screen recorder, stop looking right now. You've found it.

For hassle-free video recording, I’d suggest giving Panopto a shot. It’s super adaptable, and most folks can get started and filming in just a few minutes of guidance. I haven’t come across a USB microphone or camera that Panopto doesn’t work with.

At this point, we’ve amassed over 50,000 videos, and usage keeps climbing each year. Panopto’s support is usually top-notch, but rolling out new features is a lot smoother on their cloud service compared to self-hosting.

This product is really impressive and comes with a fantastic company behind it. Panopto has ticked off a whole bunch of boxes for us and then some. It’s made it super easy to live stream events like a pro, manage all our instructional content, and integrate smoothly with Canvas (including those video quizzes that sync up with grades). Plus, we can either caption ourselves or hire out to any number of captioning services. My only gripe is that they need to simplify the process for students submitting video assignments. Right now, it’s a bit too tricky, and both faculty and students often mess it up. But knowing Panopto, I’m sure they’ll tackle this issue, and I can’t wait for them to enhance that feature.
